FAQs

  • We are relational beings, experiencing life in an interconnected, systemic context. Our behavior is significantly impacted by the people we encounter, and the challenges we face can be best understood in proximity to the relationships we experience. Establishing and experiencing secure emotional attachments and bonds with others is a fundamental human need. We deeply desire to feel valuable and accepted.

Meaningful and lasting change happens within connected, safe relationships. Counselling can help you find a healthier relationship with your self identity, with other people, as well as with your sense of spiritual connectedness, all within the context of your lived experience.

  • I aim to practice a clinical self-awareness that celebrates the autonomy and power of client identity, seeing the resources and strengths of all clients, and repositions all counsellor expertise towards a non-pathological, generative posture of discovery, co-creation, and accompaniment.

  • Foremost, I am honored to live, work, and play on the ancestral and unceded land of the Hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking people. I acknowledge that the privilege of being a colonial descendant on this land comes at a high cost, and I am dedicated to celebrating Indigenous voices while practicing a compassionate understanding of colonial impact on all people.

I am committed to make every effort to recognize diverse identities, be they cultural, racial, gender, or otherwise.

  • I will do everything possible to invite a warm and welcoming environment, recognizing and honoring all client identities. My clinical hope is to bring visibility to your concerns and hold my privilege with humility and conviction.

As a counselor, my privileged access to client concern challenges me to accept the client as the ultimate authority on their own identity, the true expert in regards to their experience. This is an essential concern when working with an increasingly diverse clientele, practicing an expanding acknowledgement of the sociopolitical and intercultural impact on lived experience and identity.

I have a wealth of expertise, learnings, experiences, and curious ideas that I will freely share with you. Together we can explore how my offerings might help (or not!) as you work through the challenges life has brought about.
